The Vacation Rental Owners & Neighbors of Palm Springs (VRON-PS) Board of Directors is pleased to invite you to a meeting of all VR agencies in Palm Springs on Tuesday, February 25 from 3-5 PM at The Bank Event Space located at 383 S. Palm Canyon Dr, 2nd Floor.
Last year VRON changed its' by-laws to include VR agencies in addition to individual permit holders. VRON adjusted the number of board seats to allow three agencies for a total of seven board seats. These agency seats are currently held by John McCoy (PS Resort Homes), Mike Flannery (Acme House Co) and Kenny Cassady (Oranj Palm). This expanded board has been meeting for six months. At the meeting next week, we would like to tell you about vacation rental issues that are coming up in Palm Springs and to ask you to join the other agencies which have already affiliated with VRON. Among the topics we’ll cover are:
- the status of the VR ordinance changes,
- the ongoing Protect Our Neighborhoods lawsuit against the City and VR homeowners,
- TOT changes,
- a possible reduction in VR Permit fees, etc.
VRON is also pleased to introduce you to a new VR marketing program we have been working on with Scott White and his team from the Greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau (GPSCVB). GPSCVB will be attending in person for the second half of this meeting. Similar to the boutique hotels in Palm Springs and the large hotels across the Coachella Valley, there can be an ongoing marketing campaign facilitated by an additional 1% collection of TOT. Although it is not commonly known, vacation rentals in several communities across California already operate with this type of marketing fund so this will enable vacation rentals in the Coachella Valley to compete on a level playing field as a prime vacation rental destination.
Please feel free to invite other members of your company by clicking the RSVP button below.
We look forward to seeing everyone at this event!
